Succesful Open Bedrijvendag at Indaver Willebroek

On Sunday, October 1st, Indaver opened its doors in Willebroek for an engaging Open Company Day with the theme "Sorting is an Art." The audience, young and old, had the opportunity to explore the intriguing world of PMD sorting. Indaver, specializing in sorting as many as 16 fractions from the blue bag (utilised to collect household packaging waste), demonstrated that sorting is not only a technical art but also a source of valuable raw materials.

On Saturday, we welcomed more than 500 employees and their families, while on Sunday, a whopping 1200 visitors took the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look. The enthusiasm was overwhelming, as all available time slots were fully booked, allowing us to proudly call it a very successful event.

Visitors began their journey of discovery in our brand-new hall, where the pre-treatment facility for the new Plastics2Chemicals installation will soon be built. A striking eye-catcher was the beautifully lit cube of sorted PMD bales. This colorful spectacle attracted visitors throughout the weekend to take a selfie or family photo. The experiential journey offered much more: from VR goggles, a futuristic exhibition with packaging artifacts, to a playful game illustrating the problem of plastic pollution. The whole experience was interspersed with photo stories from our own employees.

Visitors were made curious to see the actual processes, and an exciting tour inside the facility led them through various machines for sorting materials.

The feedback from visitors was extremely positive! For those who missed the visit, you can find more information about the PMD sorting process on this website.
