Indaver Solvents - The newly identified position of Process Engineer will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing the risk associated with the processing of all the materials brought to site. As well as ensuring future plant modifications and new processes are safe and compliant with the current legislation.

Role and Responsibilites

  • Design changes to the plant and equipment so that they are safe and efficient in running the wide range of processes on site.
  • Initiate and participate robust process safety studies and delivering process safety improvement actions by liaising with a cross functional team on site.
  • Take responsibility in keeping P&ID and asset registers up-to-date
  • Support/lead in HAZOP/LOPA coordination + drive the implementation of any recommendations coming from any HAZOP/LOPA etc
  • Collaborate with QESH manager to follow-up on compliance re ATEX zoning/DSEAR
  • Take ownership of the company’s Management of Change process
  • Support  the process safety engineering expert for new product development projects
  • Support the EHS Manager during external regulatory authorities such as HSE, EA, and Fire Services.
  • Any other relevant duties as requested by Colleagues and Management

Experience and qualifications required

  • Engineering qualifications in chemical engineering, process engineering or equivalent
  • Chartered status a benefit
  • At least 5 years working in a COMAH site in a similar role
  • Technical understanding of process safety and proficient in process hazard identification and risk control methods (LOPA, ALARP, HAZID, HAZOP)
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure with a positive and committed attitude
  • Be prepared to work in a flexible manner as and when the Company and Business needs require. Undertake any task deemed reasonable that you are considered competent by the company to carry out
  • Essentially - Must be eligble to work in the UK as no sponsorship visa programme will be offered against this position
